Dubrovnik, formerly known as Ragusa, is a port city on the
Adriatic’s Dalmatian coast. It is now part of Croatia, is a
UNESCO world heritage site, and in the summer, in usual
years, is crowded with tourists from around the world who
come to see its fortified old town and enjoy magnificent sunshine.
The Plo˘ce lazarettos described later in this article, just outside Dubrovni’s town walls, are the low complex by the water,
