before them. Meng is likely anxious and nervous about her predicament.
But while she reads that novel she has not had a chance to read for a while,
she should also take some comfort in the fact that she will be given a fair
hearing with all the protections that the rule of law affords her. It certainly
would be a lot worse for her (and a good deal less comfortable) if she had
been arrested in a country that does not recognize the rule of law. If she had
been, that would be tit for tat.
