Peter’s peripatetic early years foreshadowed his current love of travel and
adventure. The focus of his life is his family, which includes his spouse
(Stephen Sturgeon), their two sons (Thinley and Karma), two Bernese
Mountain Dogs, a Wheaten Terrier and a very fine cat. As a family they
have shared many adventure-filled holidays, including skiing in New
Zealand and exploring Iceland. At every opportunity Peter and his family
are off visiting the slopes or some exotic destination.
Peter enjoys a glass of fine wine or a stein of locally brewed beer. He
knows the location of every gourmet burger restaurant in the Lower Mainland.

The Honourable Judge Delaram Jahani
Dela was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She is the
eldest of two children, and her family lived in Iran
until she was ten years old. She attended a French
school from the age of three, as her family wanted to
send both her and her brother to France for their university
education. With the fall of the Shah’s regime,
the plan was fast-tracked such that two years after
the fall, Dela and her family left Iran and moved to France.
Despite the lack of language barrier, she found France to have a very different
culture, one which she and her family embraced while maintaining
their own heritage. It was not always easy, as both Dela and her brother
would attend Farsi classes daily to advance their skills in their native
tongue, in addition to their regular schooling.
When she was 15 and about to start grade 9, Dela and her family moved
to Toronto. This is when she first began to learn English. It was a tough transition
at first, as the words would all merge together into one long sentence.
Within six months all that changed, and she became increasingly proficient
in English. She was strong in mathematics and quickly skipped to grade 11
