The July calendar is filled with ... food? At least in the United
States, July 7 is popularized as Macaroni Day, the third Sunday
of each July (this year, July 15) as Ice Cream Day and July 28
as Hamburger Day. July as a whole is Ice Cream Month and
the fourth week in July is Salad Week. July 7 is World Chocolate Day in several
countries, celebrated by the consumption of chocolate. The Saturday of
the August long weekend is, in Canada, Food Day. Bon appétit to those of
you enjoying a celebratory dinner to mark the memorable events listed
below, including various moves and appointments, and we wish everyone
else all the best for your barbeques, picnics and other festivities.
Jana Mansour moves from Morrison & Foerster in New York to join Dentons’
Vancouver office. John Forstrom moves from Forstrom Jackson to
join Hakemi Ridgedale. Samantha Chang heads over to McEwan Partners
from Fasken to continue as a commercial litigator. Jessica M. Sullivan joins
DLA Piper’s Vancouver office, moving from Kahn, Zack, Ehrlick, Lithwick.
Joel Schachter moves from Farris & Company to join Lawson Lundell’s
Vancouver litigation department. Angela Folino, formerly with Edwards,
Kenny & Bray, moves out to Richmond to join Kahn, Zack, Ehrlick, Lithwick.
Catherine Whitehead joins Lawson Lundell’s research group in Vancouver,
having previously been with Dolden Wallace Folick. Danielle
Broadfoot jumps from Borden Ladner Gervais to Lawson Lundell’s Vancouver
office. Ron Toews, Q.C., retired from the Smithers Crown Counsel
office in February 2017 and, after a winter in Arizona, has returned to parttime
practice, doing ad hoc prosecutions in the Smithers area. Kyle Gardiner
moves from McCarthy Tétrault to the Vancouver office of Lawson
