The Honourable Madam Justice Janice R. Dillon was appointed as a judge of the
Supreme Court of British Columbia in 1995 and served as a member of the Attorney
General’s Rule Revision Committee for more than 15 years. Madam Justice Dillon’s
experience encompasses law reform, health law, and civil litigation.
Gordon Turriff, Q.C., was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1975 and retired
from practice in July 2015. Mr. Turriff is a visiting scholar, with the title Bencher-in-
Residence, at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC. He was formerly counsel to
Stikeman Elliott LLP in Vancouver and is a past President and now Life Bencher of the
Law Society of British Columbia. He was a founding member and is a former director of
the British Columbia Law Institute, successor to the Law Reform Commission of British
Columbia, and is the author of the Annotated British Columbia Legal Profession Act,
also published by Thomson Reuters.
