THE ADVOCATE 857 VOL. 75 PART 6 NOVEMBER 2017 painfully obvious to us that the arranging for biographies obviously involved a lot more than simply asking people to write them. There must have been weeks and weeks of either gentle coaxing or ruthless flogging and flailing to ensure contributors met the submission deadline. We have not mastered David’s skillset in this area yet. What is more, we have decided that we do not have to! This is where you come in. If you feel that you would like to contribute to the Advocate as a contributing editor—tasked with coordinating the new judges and Nos Disparus sections of the magazine—we welcome your cover letter and resume which can be sent to: <mbain@the-advocate.ca>. You need to be gentle but firm, kind but ruthless, compassionate but authoritarian … we think. The deadline for applications is December 31, 2017. We hope to hear from you. ENDNOTES 1. Entre Nous (2017) 75 Advocate 649. 2. Ian Mulgrew, “Begbie Decision Is Haunting Law Society of B.C.”, Vancouver Sun (22 September 2017), online: <vancouversun.com/news/politics/ ian-mulgrew-begbie-decision-is-haunting-lawsociety of-b-c>. 3. I pause here to note that I am now working with two of UBC’s gold medallists. I like to think that the participation ribbon I received the year I graduated shows that we are all winners, really. t t t t t PACIFIC POLYGRAPH SERVICES LTD.
