Bill 16 introduced amendments to the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, consistent with recommendations made by the BCLI and CCEL in a 2013 report on assisted living in B.C. Bill 5, the Miscellaneous Statutes (Signed Statements) Amendment Act, 2016, incorporated recommendations from the BCLI 2006 Report on Unnecessary Requirements for Sworn Statements. The work of the BCLI was specifically recognized by the minister and the opposition critic during the second reading of Bill 5. ENDNOTES 1.
